Book Summary:

A new novel by the USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of The Breathing Series . . .

What if you had a second chance to meet someone for the first time?
Cal Logan is shocked to see Nicole Bentley sitting across from him at a coffee shop thousands of miles from their hometown. After all, no one has seen or heard from her since they graduated over a year ago.
Except this girl isn’t Nicole.

She looks exactly like Cal’s shy childhood crush, but her name is Nyelle Preston and she has no idea who he is. This girl is impulsive and daring, her passion for life infectious. The complete opposite of Nicole. Cal finds himself utterly fascinated-and falling hard. But Nyelle is also extremely secretive. And the closer he comes to finding out what she’s hiding, the less he wants to know.
When the secrets from the past and present collide, one thing becomes clear: Nothing is what it seems.

Karen’s Review…

“What If” is a question that I think most people have asked themselves at one point in their life.
Rebecca Donovan further demonstrates her unique gift of words and storytelling in this newest release, What If.
The author builds mystery, anticipation and drama while she tells this story. Slowly the book develops as we journey through the friendship founded in childhood between Cal, Nicole, Richelle and Rae. Throughout as the story unfolds there are many points of view shown and it is perfect. I found myself having my own “what if” moments. I experienced the journey of finding out who you really are, the deep connection of friendship, the inspiration, the heartbreak, brokenness and the second chance.
The writing kept me intrigued and absorbed in the unique book and I felt the words, emotions and traveled through the pages on this journey. A New Adult book with a younger feel. Give this a try and find out “What If”. 4.5 Wishing on Shooting Stars

Kara’s Review…

What I appreciate most about Rebecca’s writing is that she makes my brain work double time while reading her novels. She does not hand us, the readers, answers on a silver platter. But when we get the answers she leaves us speechless, blown away, in awe, and personally in tears. What If had me focusing on areas that I thought were crucial and not focusing on others that I assumed were less crucial, but it’s all crucial!! Which resulted in an immediate re-read. Rebecca takes everyday things (stars for example) and provides you with a life lesson or a different way of viewing situations that’s refreshing, hopeful, and promising. How Rebecca does what she does, I don’t know, I will never question it because her words become real and I become part of her stories. Rebecca built a connection for me with all parties involved in this four-way friendship. I became emotionally invested with the characters and their experiences: crying over loss and leaning heavily on hope to find answers. I never doubt the mindful journey I’m about to enter when picking up a Rebecca Donovan novel. You may be thinking this review has been vague in regards to what you can expect from reading What If, but that’s exactly what I want you to think because you need to experience and appreciate this novel for what it is yourself. Pick this one up, and find your next book crush!! Rating: 5 shooting stars
