No Denying You (Danvers #5) by Sydney Landon
After Emma Davis’s first week at Danvers International, she’s convinced her boss will drive her crazy…
Being the assistant to uptight workaholic Brant Stone is more than Emma can bear. But in her weaker moments, she can’t help but admit that the sexy control freak can turn her on with an insult more than any man she’s ever met…
So when Emma gains an unexpected advantage, she blackmails Brant into accompanying her to her high school reunion. After all, the enemy she knows is preferable to a blind date arranged by her meddling mother.
But before they realize what’s happening, they are doing more than acting the part…they’re living it. The war that has been raging between them shifts playing fields to the bedroom, as hate turns to lust and then to something so much more…
No Denying You is the 5th novel in the Danvers series. This series is based on a group of friends and family that all work together and are lucky in finding love within their workplace or with business acquaintances. This novel features Emma, Brant’s assistant, and Brant. These two have quick tongues when it comes to tossing remarks towards each other and we witness the headaches they both give the other. Brant is precise, organized, and uptight while Emma has her own system of organization that I believe revolves around driving Brant crazy. Emma has to go home for her high school reunion and needs to bring a date. Enter Brant once Emma blackmails him with a “month” from his past that he wants no one discovering. Here’s where the heat between the sheets begins. Brant is genuine and dedicated to doing right by Emma, and hearing how he breaks down his decisions allows us witness his honesty, sincerity, and laying the cards out there. Emma runs through a wide range of emotions throughout this novel and we’re graced with Brant’s strength and awareness to help see Emma through some extremely difficult times. I am caught up in this Danvers clan and find myself looking forward to seeing the previous novels’ main characters hold such valuable roles in the current main characters lives as well as getting brought to the present on current happenings in their own relationships. I look forward to Syndey’s next installment in the Danvers series: Always Loving You, which releases the beginning of February 2015. Give this a try and find your next book crush!
