The first irresistible novel in a hot new series about a rock star on his way up—and the woman he wants to take all the way…
Emmie Valencia has what it takes to be the music industry’s hottest band manager. She just needs to prove it. Determined to discover a killer new band, Emmie is ready to make her move. First stop: Austin, Texas.
As a sizzling-hot lead singer, Slater Vaughn has no trouble raising heart rates—but his band’s been flat-lining for years. When Emmie, his bandmate’s sister, crashes with them in exchange for some free management, her industry know-how lands them a spot in the biggest music festival in Texas. But it isn’t just her business acumen that catches Slater’s attention. Emmie is sexy and warm, and—for the first time in his life—he wants more.
Emmie is a glorified PA for a major record company and she’s been waiting for eight years for her worthy promotion that her boss (Irwin) refuses to give her. Speaking of Emmie and Irwin, they have the best banter that I’ve read in a novel in quite some time. Emmie has her dreams but let’s fear hold her back. Emmie also believes that she’s not good enough, that people use her and when she’s no longer needed she walks away. Slater is the front man in the band “Snatch” along with Emmie’s brother, Derek. Fear of failure is what motivates Slater to achieve his dreams, but he feels like he always lets others down. Watching Emmie make her list, and spend time living with her brother and the band opened a can of combustible, lust-filled worms. Watching Emmie and Slater build a foundation to their “thing” while she was living with the band held crucial emotional events that kept me hooked into the push and pull of what they’re both needing/wanting. I didn’t want my time with Emmie and Slater to end. But kowing the sequel will be out in July has me itching and ready for more. Erika describes Slater like a rock god and I can see this with his build, his smirks, and his commanding presence…oh and I want to lick his tattoo also. Give this a try and find your next book crush!
