Falling Away by Penelope Douglas
Jaxon is the guy she’s supposed to avoid.
K.C. is the girl he won’t let get away….
K. C. Carter has always followed the rules—until this year, when a mistake leaves her the talk of her college campus and her carefully arranged life comes crashing to a halt. Now she’s stuck in her small hometown for the summer to complete her court-ordered community service, and to make matters worse, trouble is living right next door.
Jaxon Trent is the worst kind of temptation and exactly what K.C. was supposed to stay away from in high school. But he never forgot her. She was the one girl who wouldn’t give him the time of day and the only one to ever say no. Fate has brought K.C. back into his life—except what he thought was a great twist of luck turns out to be too close for comfort. As the bond between them grows, he discovers that convincing K.C. to get out from her mother’s shadow is hard, but revealing the darkest parts of his soul is nearly impossible.…
The rage was bursting from the pages of FA. I could feel the tension in KC like a dam being held back waiting to explode through its barrier. Jax is thorough in thinking actions through before carrying them out. Why does he doubt himself…we know this answer but his control over all things stops when it comes to himself. The push and pull dragged me in. Jax schooling KC (Juliet) on how to drive a stick…best. scene. ever!! The sexual innuendos were hot, sensual and had my pulse racing in sixth gear! This group from Shelburne Falls has touched a place in my heart that relates to brokenness. No ones life is perfect and learning to fight, be patient, finding your true self, and having friends backing you 100% is what this group is all about. Their cars get me going…and the guys’ ways of carrying themselves, but their banter and loyalty holds my connection and love for them all. Penelope has fulfilled my need for Jax and Juliet by providing a novel filled with hurt, troubled pasts, fear, heated desire, trust, mystery, and angst. The hair-doing scene between Jax and Juliet was also one of my favorites as you can see the walls melting away *sigh* !! Grab this series if you haven’t..you won’t regret it!! You’ll find several book crushes, give this a try!! Rating: 4.5 stars
