Review

Easy ~ not hard or difficult, requiring no great labor or effort. Free from worry or care.
Virtue ~ moral excellence, goodness, righteousness. Conformity of one’s life and conduct to moral and ethical principles.
Reading Easy Virtue, I felt a sense of sadness, sadness for Blaire, for Ronan, and even for Lawrence. Easy Virtue is beautifully written, yet haunting to me. Blaire is as strong as she is weak, as vulnerable as she is guarded. To know what you truly want in your heart of hearts, but deny yourself that very thing ~ makes me so sad for Blaire.
“Many say that love will set you free, but I disagree….love is a cage, a very painful one; its gilded bars made with yearning, heartache, and unfulfilled dreams. And the moment I realized that love wasn’t necessary to one’s survival I became free. No one would have the power to hurt me again.”
To think so little of yourself…..it’s heartbreaking. At this point, I’m not even sure who I’m rooting for….Ronan or Lawrence. I am certain however, that this story is going to take me on an incredible journey, a journey that I hope my heart can handle.
