Strong Enough by M. Leighton
Book Details
From the author of the New York Times bestselling Bad Boys novels comes the first in a dark, sexy contemporary trilogy.
Is she strong enough to trust the most dangerous man she’s ever met? And is he strong enough to let her?
How would I describe myself? Well, I’m Muse Harper. I’m a twenty-something painter who loves red wine, quirky movies, and men with a fatal flaw. But that was before I met Jasper King. He became my fatal flaw. Eight months ago, I had a choice to make—abandon everything I’ve ever known to protect my family, or stay and risk someone getting hurt. I chose the former. My plan was working just fine until I found out my father had gone missing.
That’s when I met Jasper. A bounty hunter with the eyes of a tiger and the nose of a bloodhound, he was supposed to help me find my father. What I didn’t know was that meeting him was no accident. Hunting people isn’t all that Jasper does. And helping me was only part of his plan. I just wish I’d found out sooner, before my heart got involved. But even then, I don’t know if I’d have done things differently.
Now, I have another choice to make—trust the man that I’m falling in love with and hope that he’ll do the right thing, or run as far away from him as I can get.

Kara’s Review…
I was crying so hard I couldn’t breathe from the words in the Prologue. Pain, fear, desperation made it impossible for my damn eyes to stop overflowing. Then the monster secrecy that makes up Jasper kept me on edge. The mystery behind his bounty hunter profession. I couldn’t resist nor did I try to refuse experiencing the ‘want’ along with Muse and Jasper. That of which is similar to standing in 94 degree humidity without any water or ice or breeze, anything to quench the thirst, the sweltering heat. The pain and suffering Jasper experienced as a child has led to the construction of a self-made protective cage around him. He can find anyone, anything…but he can and will remain hidden. Always in shadow. Whether that be emotionally or physically, hence the mystery he portrays. Muse wants answers. She’s tired of being left in the dark. She’s sparky, talkative and brave, she doesn’t cower. I praise her strength and she matches Jasper in power. Strong Enough has the angst to keep you on the edge of your seat, the sexual tension that makes your palms sweat, and a range of emotions that will give you the feels. Give Jasper a try and see if you’re ‘strong enough’ to power through this book crush!! Rating: 4.5 stars
Caryn’s Review
M. Leighton has the most incredible talent for creating the most deliciously beautiful, tormented bad boys that love so fiercely it melts your soul accompanied by a story line full of mystery, angst, love…every emotion and all the “feels” and intensity you could ever ask for.
Strong Enough will pull you in from the first page and keep you hanging on with everything you have until the very end. So wonderfully addictive.
~ “How do you think love is supposed to work? How does it work for you?”
~ “It holds you captive, whether you want it to or not, It never lets you go, no matter how much you want to be set free.”
Jasper is panty melting and tormented, flawed and fierce and frustrating all wrapped up in a damn near perfect man. It’s impossible not to love him (and wish I could have him for my very own ~ if only book boyfriends were real) I’d scoop him up in a heartbeat.
Muse is equally as fierce and determined and her “fight” for what she wants, for Jasper, is…(sigh)…
You will effortlessly fall in love with Jasper & Muse as you take this incredible journey with them in Strong Enough. A must read that will skyrocket Jasper to the top of your Book Crush list.

Karen’s Review
Strong Enough, the first book in the new Tall, Dark and Dangerous series by author M Leighton is definitely befitting the title.
The prologue, oh Ms Leighton, you had me at the prologue. Wow! Dark, intense and setting the suspense for where this story was headed.
The remainder of the story immerses me into this dark and fast paced story. The direction unknown kept guessing. The main characters, Jasper and Muse were appealing and that sense of secrecy about them, the author slowly revealed was fabulous. There were also some supporting characters that were introduced when the going gets tough and I think we haven’t seen the last of this crew.
This book had a good flow and the pages practically turned themselves. Overall this was a great read and the only downside I saw were a few holes in the plot and that the darkness and intensity grew a bit light as the story played out.
Nonetheless, truly entertaining and well worth the read!! Give this a try! 4.0 Stars
